Our goal in Ground Handling is to be a truly integrated service provider to the TUI Group Airlines based out of UK&I, the Netherlands, Belgium and the Nordic countries. We are embarking on a journey to unite four independent Ground Handling establishments, and create one cohesive pan-European organisation, driving harmonisation and best practice in what we do and capitalising on our collective size to deliver economies of scale, whilst fostering a common culture of excellence in quality and delivery.
As a Ground Operations Systems Specialist, you will support key areas of airport customer service, on-time performance and airport ancillary sales by ensuring our airport business IT systems are operating at the optimal level of performance and ensuring users are suitably qualified and trained.
In addition, using your detailed understanding of software and business processes, you will recommend and implement software and business process changes that will support continued improvement in the key areas of the role.
As Ground Operations Systems Specialist you will carry out, as required, detailed analysis of airports IT infrastructure to assess the suitability / compatibility for the deployment of the Group Airlines airport IT departure control systems.
You will provide expert business input and manage an oversight and quality review programme from a business perspective across the network of airports that ensures regulatory compliance, optimal service delivery and ground handling agent process and training delivery. You will work with the Document and Process Improvement Specialists to ensure the systems content of the Ground Operations Manual (GOM) and other processes and procedures correctly reflects the way the systems work Ground Station Coordinators provide valuable information of the actual operation, especially the challenges and problems they experience related to DC’s and other affiliate systems. When required you will project manage individual and/or multiple airport deployment of software, bringing together all stakeholders to ensure a successful deployment of functionality.
You will provide support to internal & external customers on airport IT related check-in & weight and balance systems by assessing the competency in use of the system by staff and recommend and develop additional training & support as required by providing training to users on all aspects of the Group Airlines airport IT departure control systems. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting of deployment issues and act as the “business user expert” in technical feedback and discussions on items raised.
You will also analyse testing requirements & construct testing documentation. When required, you will manage the testing requirement including all set up and feedback using the business tools to prioritise defects by business impact monitoring progress to closure of defects.
As Ground Operations Systems Specialist you will evaluate the impact from a business perspective of software upgrades from the supplier of the systems and new 3rd party software on Airport IT systems making recommendations on the acceptability.
In addition, you will be expected to participate in operational On-Call and Emergency Response (ERP) rosters as required.
Finally, you will undertake projects and any other reasonable tasks as and when required by the business.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Have a good knowledge of English, knowledge of other languages is desired but not essential;
• Have strong analytical and problem solving skills with eye for detail, at the same time maintaining an overview;
• Have good communication and reporting skills;
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and in depth;
• Subject Matter Expert in DCS and Ground Handling systems ;
• Ability to produce and deliver training to Ground Handlers on the DCS system;
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to work comfortably across cultures and markets;
• Knowledge of Ground Handling procedures and processes including regulatory and government requirements is required;
• Ability to recognise opportunities for continuous improvement and suggest implementation solutions through TUI IT systems.
